Climate Action & Adaptation Planning Working Group

This Working Group was reconvened in December 2018, following the South Bay Cities adoption of their respective Climate Action Plans (CAPs). The Climate Action and Adaptation Planning Working Group's meets quarterly with a mission focus of developing implementation strategies (renewable energy, energy efficiency, urban greening, etc.) found in the CAPs. The Working Group's mission also is focused on the development and approval of the adaptation chapters for the South Bay Cities' Climate Action Plans. The Working Group provides education, planning, and the sharing of best practices in support of these continued climate action efforts.

The SBCCOG originally hosted bi-monthly Climate Action Plan (CAP) / Energy Efficiency Climate Action Plan (EECAP) Working Group meetings to 1) share resources and best practices amongst city staff about measures and approaches to climate and energy efficiency planning and programs; 2) provide city staff with CAP/EECAP updates and presentations on deliverables and work progress; and 3) receive cities' feedback and input on deliverables and work plan.

The CAP/EECAP program was funded through the South Bay Cities Council of Governments CAP Assessment, a Southern California Edison grant, and the Southern California Gas Company.
