Green Business Assist Program

Green Business Assist Program (GBAP) is a program of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) that offers to help businesses reduce energy, water, waste, and support green mobility – while improving quality of life and making our community more attractive to work, live, and play. GBAP is a FREE program for South Bay businesses designed to encourage sustainable actions and provide:

  • Information, education, and resources from utilities on incentive programs that can save your business money
  • Monthly information on utility programs and other valuable tips to reduce energy, water, and waste through e-newsletter
  • Resources on green mobility, such as EV and vanpool
  • Information to encourage your employees to take action at work and at home
  • SBCCOG assistance with getting your questions answered by utility technical support
  • Social media visibility through Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletter

CA Green Business Network (CAGBN) & South Bay Green Business Assist Program (GBAP):

CAGBN - The SBCCOG team continues to conduct outreach and work with businesses to achieve certification for programs in Torrance and Hawthorne. During the month of November 2018, SBCCOG staff was able to certify three businesses that had previously been at the participant (Tier 1) level - two businesses in Torrance and one business in Hawthorne.    

As businesses are certified in the CAGBN, they also become GBAP participants. GBAP by city: Torrance (41), Lawndale (26), Hawthorne (18), Redondo Beach (16), El Segundo (15), Gardena (15), Carson (12), Inglewood (10), Manhattan Beach (8), Palos Verdes Estates (7), Rancho Palos Verdes (7), Hermosa Beach (5), Rolling Hills Estates (4), Lomita (3), Lennox (2), and Los Angeles County – Community of Westmont (1) for a total of 190 businesses in the program as of the end of November 2018.
