Holiday Trees
Between December 26, 2014 and January 17, 2015, residents may place holiday trees next to their carts on their regular collection date for free pick up and recycling.  Trees will only be collected on a resident's regular collection day.  Trees must be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day.

16th Annual General Assembly

The SBCCOG's 16th Annual General Assembly working title "A View From the Front Porch: Neighborhoods in the South Bay," was held at the Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center (801 E. Carson St., Carson CA 90745). The conference focused on neighborhoods – what makes a good neighborhood, what are some of the challenges cities face, and what is our vision for the neighborhood of the future.

Environmental Sustainability at Los Angeles Air Force Base

Some may not realize there is a major active duty Air Force base in the city of Los Angeles. In fact, it’s located in the South Bay with areas in both El Segundo and San Pedro. Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) accomplishes an extremely critical mission for our ation’s security as the single center for acquisition and development of space and missile systems. Along with that mission, LAAFB is making great achievements in sustainability and resource conservation.
