The October meeting will be especially stimulating. The City of Torrance will share its ongoing work updating its General Plan. Since SB 375 encourages amendments to General Plans, this will provide an opportunity to discuss the developing Torrance vision in the context of the vision for the Sustainable South Bay Strategy (discussed in September) and the prospects for a sub-regional Sustainable Communities Strategy.

The RTAC has submitted its final recommendations to the CARB. SCAG has been meeting with South Bay cities to validate its data base. SCAG is also proceeding with its regional outreach strategy for SB 375. Updates on those activities will also be provided.

Because SCAG is holding its SB 375 Summit on our regular meeting date of November 18, we will hold a single combined November-December meeting on December 2.

Hope to see you all here next week. Don’t forget to RSVP to Sahar@southbaycities.org

Wally
