Board of Directors
The Board of Directors serves as the primary governing body for the SBCCOG. The Board is comprised of elected officials from each of the SBCCOG's member cities. Each city appoints one delegate and one alternate member to serve on the Board.Steering Committee
The Steering Committee serves as the Executive Committee of the SBCCOG. Its members are the officers of the SBCCOG and committee chairs, as well as the chairs of the Working Groups and a representative from the South Bay City Managers’ Group.Aviation Issues Committee
The Aviation Issues Committee acts as a forum for information concerning Los Angeles International Airport and regional airport planning that affect cities in the SBCCOG. GIS Working Group
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Working Group is advisory to the Technology Committee. Members work to advance the use of technology in city operations through education and information sharing.
Homeland Security Task Force
The Homeland Security Task Force seeks to strengthen disaster preparedness and hometown security in the South Bay by promoting the cooperation of all governmental agencies in the South Bay and improving information sharing.Infrastructure Working Group
The Infrastructure Working Group focuses on transportation, storm water, funding for infrastructure projects including maintenance, and related policies that affect South Bay cities. They work to promote South Bay projects and identify funding opportunities.
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee annually develops a Legislative Agenda for SBCCOG Board of Directors’ adoption. This agenda is then used to monitor, evaluate and recommend to the Board positions on Regional, State and Federal proposed legislation and regulations.Livable Communities
The Livable Communities Working Group’s goal is to inform and educate our member cities and staff on the components of quality neighborhoods and commercial centers. This Working Group looks at strategies to re-shape and re-develop existing areas to enhance their appearance, improve transportation opportunities, air quality, and overall quality of living.
Technology Committee
The Technology Committee’s mission is to promote the use of technology through education and information sharing in order to enhance the ability of member cities to more efficiently and effectively deliver services to their constituents.Transit Working Group
The Transit Working Group focuses on various public transit modes in the South Bay and reviews the current functions and needed improvements to transit systems. Activities of this Working Group include coordination and policy review of regional transit projects affecting the South Bay and promoting transportation Demand Management (TDM) projects such as vanpools and carpools.
Green Cities Task Force
The South Bay Cities Green Task Force is an advisory group that serves as a clearinghouse for policies, programs and projects on energy efficiency, air quality, resource conservation and climate action steps that South Bay cities can adopt to not only lead by example as good environmental stewards but also to influence behaviors that directly affect climate change in areas such as transportation options, energy consumption patterns and general consumer decisions. The Task Force will also evaluate proposed legislation on subjects of sustainability and make recommendations to the SBCCOG Board of Directors. Utilizing the South Bay Energy Savings Center, information will be made available to the cities for their individual actions and as well as facilitating the development and coordination of joint action plans.
